Friday night finds the 1-0 Bulldogs taking on the 1-0 West High Falcons at TouVelle stadium. The Falcons look to build on last season’s successful run to the playoffs, while the Bulldogs look to reverse their fortunes from last year’s 0-4 start. Tonight’s game could prove pivotal for both squads, as a victory will only add more momentum for the respective program.
The Bulldogs are coming off a critical opening win against Pleasant Valley, who was able to dominate much of last year’s contest. However, the Bulldogs were able to flip the script, pulling off an impressive performance and opening the season with a convincing 30-10 home win against the Spartans.
Quarterback, Charlie Zimmerman, combined for a total of 139 yards, both passing and rushing, and notched a touchdown in each of the statistical categories. As a result of this steady performance, the veteran QB was named QC Times Athlete of the Week. As for the keys to success, Zimmerman said that the team is focused on taking it one game at a time, and not looking past any one contest, as this will be the first meeting between the teams in two years.
Kickoff is at 7:15.
